OUR DRIVING INSPIRATION

We import wines from the New World

Distinct wines that evoke the spirit of majestic places of those who risked a great deal in order to plant vines in new lands. Today, subsequent generations have been able to benefit from this foundation stone. And, the results are surprising!

Behind the wines that we select are great stories of families who carry the tradition of winemaking and a strong attachment to their land and people in which respect for the environment and a sense of social responsibility takes precedence, where the entire process is controlled by people that not only know what they are doing, but love and live what they are doing. The result is outstanding wines that capture the message that the earth wants to transmit through the vine.

Our desire is that the consumers of our wines feel transported to places of extraordinary beauty.

Come join us in this fantastic voyage!

OUR SELECTION CRITERIA

The wineries whose wines we import and sell are carefully selected. In this manner, when we choose our wineries, our focus is on the following important aspects:

Vineyard management

The way in which the grapevine is cultivated and respect for the land which is reflected in the way in which it is worked, in how it is cultivated, and in how the fruit that comes forth is utilized. Independent of the methods by which the producer has chosen to care for their vineyards, if we see consistency in their implementation, we recognize their commitment to producing the best wines.

Winemaking methods

Our knowledge of the wineries and their products is very thorough as we have visited all the wineries with whom we collaborate, are familiar with their facilities, capacities, winemaking process, and the people who work there. This is turn greatly facilitates understanding and communication of the wines they produce.

Tested wines

We have tasted and subjected our wines to a professional sensory evaluation method called the PAR assessment, which allows for an objective evaluation of wines.

Low yields and manual harvesting

Offering wines ¨with soul¨ implies choosing wineries that work with maximum outputs per hectare and that meticulously carry out the harvest and selection of grapes.

THE WINERIES

BENEGAS Argentina

Founded by Federico Benegas Lynch, great grandson of Don Tiburcio Benegas, (forefather of viticulture in South America) who in 1999 opted to recuperate his family legacy. The wines are produced with appropriate grapes from the best wine growing regions renowned for their microclimate and daily temperature range. The properties are: Finca Libertad, located in La Costa del Alto Rio, Mendoza and Finca La Encerrada, situated in Valle the Uco, a well known zone for its optimal results obtained from the Malbec variety.

Many of the vineyards from Finca Libertad are one hundred years old, which are pre phylloxera brought over by boat from France by Don Tiburcio. The Cabernet Franc, for example, comes from pre phylloxera grapevines of French lineage that are 125 years old. Michele Rolland, who acted as a consultant to Benegas, asserts the following: ¨These type of vineyards hardly exist anymore in the world because of their uniqueness in their original genetic make up.¨

BODEGA BENEGAS produces these wines ranges: Family Line - Estate Line - Single Vineyard Line - Lynch Line.

All of their wines are characterized by their elegance, complexity, and Bordeaux style.

Depending on the type of wine, the aging takes place in French oak barrels, giving priority to the fruit and allowing the wood to bring structure and balsamic elements.
